Build-A-Bike with our friends at Wells Fargo

This  past Sunday we decided to make it a meaningful Sunday Funday by building brand new bikes with 40 foster youth in Corona, California. With the hot summer sun and some help from our friends at Wells Fargo (Call Center , El Monte) we went out to a local foster agency and meet with 40 foster youth.

We meet so many incredible kids who were so excited to get their new bikes and even just hang out with everyone. Even after their bikes were build the kids didn’t want to leave and stuck around just to hang out even in the 100 degree heat. So we turned on some music and ordered some pizza and made it a party!

Our volunteers from Wells Fargo are a very special volunteer group who not only volunteered their Sunday to build the bikes but raised all the money which made this event happen. We are so thankful to have a team like them on our side! Plus, they were super smart with most of them never building bikes before but picking it up quick so they could attend to each kid in a timely manner.

We even got Danny, our founder, with a little ice bucket challenge of our own! Two of our interns, picked up the ice chest filled with just water and ice and while Danny was turned around dumped right on top of his head. Everyone got a good laugh and Danny got to cool off. We also meet some awesome foster parents and siblings who were just as happy as us to see the smiles on their kid’s face as they received their new bicycle.

If you are interested in having your company participate in a Sunday Funday with us and some very awesome kids please email us at gianna@togetherwerise.org and find out what we can plan for your team!
