Spend an hour building bikes with us for children in foster care for the holidays. Can't join us? Donate and we can build the bike for you.
The holidays can be some of the hardest times for a child removed from their family. The family gatherings and gifts for those around them leave them feeling alone and isolated more than ever. We have created a campaign through the organization Together we Rise to build 200 bikes for children currently in our neighborhood, in Cuyahoga County Foster Care. There is no cooler holiday gift to a child than a bike! Each bike will cost $75 in full.
Please join us on Sunday December 8th at 11am to build a bike. Once you have donated your $75, your bike will be ordered and your spot is reserved.
Don't have $75? Find a few friends, chip in and build the bike together. Or simply donate what you can, and we will match you with someone who does the same. $15? $20? No amount is too small. We understand $75 is quite a bit of money to most.
Can't make the event? Donate any bit of money you feel is reasonable and once we hit $75, we will build the bike for you.
If you choose to buy more than 1 bike, you can build them yourself, or we can have someone help you!
Please join us. Please bring your children!!! (any age!) We want children to participate in helping others!!! There should be a large group so don't be shy.
A bike should only take about an hour to put together. And yes, anyone can build the bike. There will be people standing by to help, and the bikes are fairly simple. No experience needed!!
Fundraising takes place until November 15. Bikes will be ordered and shipped at this time. The building event will take place on December 8th.
Please bring a wrench, bike pump, scizzors, allen wrench set, and screwdrivers if you have them.
The event is hosted by our friend and neighbor Tim Stacey at his business:
Players i Baseball Academy

If you are not present by 11:30am, we will assume you are unable to attend, and a helper will build your bike for you.
This year we have partnered with Lavender Life Company out of Michigan to offer lavander filled stuffed bunnies for children to snuggle when they are removed from their homes. Lavendar Life has made an upfront donation of 200 bunnies. For those that are interested in doing a little something extra for the children, stuffed bunnies will be available for donation at the event for $18. If you want to purchase your own stuffed bunny online, a second one will be donated to our local kids by using code ‘ Ccdcfs-oh‘ at checkout at https://lavender-life.com/collections/shop-all/products/xander-bunny-buy-a-bunny-and-we-gift-a-bunny
Due to the large interest we have in the event, we are no longer accepting non-donor building volunteers. However, ANY donation at all will get you a reserved spot at the event!
Thank you so much for your genorosity and kindness towards our local children.
