Foster Love - Together We Rise and Mercedes-Benz USA met in Atlanta, Georgia on January 25th for our first in-person team building event of 2022! Mercedes-Benz USA is committed to uplifting the community through philanthropic partnerships that empower the next generation.

“We live and work in communities that do not always have the same resources or opportunities that we have,” said Nicolette Lambrechts, Vice President and Managing Director Mercedes-Benz Vans.

It is important for us, as a company and as individuals, to give back. If we can make even a  small difference in our community, it goes a long way. It is important to remember that when we come together we can have a meaningful impact on others.

The Spirit of Community

The Mercedes-Benz USA team cherishes its community and is constantly looking for ways to give back. This year, they decided to invite the Foster Love - Together We Rise team to help bring a charitable element to their All Managers Meeting.

The MBUSA Leadership team safely gathered at the corporate headquarters right outside of  Atlanta, Georgia. To create some excitement, we paired each person with someone they typically do not work with. Once everyone was set up with a partner, the mini teams got to work assembling a total of 80 skateboards to benefit foster youth at Creative Community Services,  Inc.

The activity was great. Building something that you know will be used by a child and understanding how it will have an impact on them, is amazing. For the activity, we were partnered with colleagues that we typically do not have an opportunity to work closely with. It was a great team building exercise and helped to develop new relationships amongst our peers.  I had a lot of fun. – Nicholas Dixon, the Department Manager of Digital Customer Experience

It was truly heartwarming to watch the Mercedes-Benz USA team come together and learn how to build skateboards for kids in foster care. Everyone had different strengths to bring and experiences about their childhood to share.
