Volunteer Opportunities For Team Building

Volunteer Opportunities for Team Building

Volunteer opportunities for team building are endless with Foster Love - Together We Rise. Groups can choose to do them anywhere with our programs! So it’s a nice change when we host volunteer opportunities for team building in house. This Saturday the 13th was one of those days.

Varying Team Building

As a nonprofit that helps kids in foster care, we receive different types of donations. A donation type we accept from corporations are in-kind donations. In-kind donations are often a product that those organizations make. Our partners at Cotton On generously donated a few pallets of new clothing for kids in foster care. Typically, our team building programs consist of volunteers sponsoring one of our programs. So, this was a nice change of pace.

Sweating For The Kids

We hosted the volunteer event at our Brea, CA headquarters. There were 75 volunteers in total, some came in groups, some people came by themselves. The goal was to open and organize pallets of clothing, so we split everyone into teams. Each team was assigned to a specific task type. Some groups opened boxes, others inspected clothing, everyone sorted clothes by gender and size. In total, the volunteers went through 14 six-foot-tall pallets and assorted the clothing into manageable groups.

Teams Within Teams

What is amazing about our volunteers is that they are a diverse group of individuals. This weekend we were lucky to spend the day with so many outstanding people who want to give back to their community.

Here is a glimpse of a few volunteers. The La Habra Lions Club Leos group came out to help us. The Leos are a younger segment of people from the Lions Club. Almost twenty Leos members came out and they were so excited to work together.

Our volunteer Hannah was excited to help. She put in so much meticulous energy into her work and helping others.

We are also very thankful for the Dollz and Dice social club who are always supporting our volunteer events. They bring their positive can-do attitudes and are always ready to get involved.

The Mongan Family are stellar volunteers to work with, they were the last ones in for lunch and the first ones back to work; never shying away from any requests.

Two of the heavy lifters were Daniel and Darian, the couple never stopped moving. Daniel never declined when asked to help with the heavy stuff. Darian came ready to help us sort through boxes at rapid speed.

These are just a few of the AMAZING people who volunteer with us!

Get Involved!

We are so grateful to have amazing volunteers who care about doing some good in their community. Don’t be discouraged if you want to volunteer and don’t live near our Brea or Austin locations. Thanks to our team building programs, you can help kids in foster care anywhere in the country.  Find out more about our volunteer opportunities here.  https://www.togetherwerise.org/volunteer-opportunities/
